About

One of Gladfield's most popular base malts, grown from plump, low-protein autumn barley. It is highly friable but kept relatively low in soluble nitrogen to enhance mouthfeel and head retention. Fully modified through a traditional long, cool germination for higher extract and reduced haze, and kilned to give a gentle toasty character that suits traditional English styles.
